About me
I’m Esther, an independent cat food researcher and long-time cat owner. I help U.S. cat owners make clear, confident decisions about what they feed their cats.
My journey began simply. My cousin Sarah moved to Dubai with her husband, and she didn’t want to leave her male cat, Susay, with just anyone. When I was growing up, my dad had dogs, so I had a little experience helping with them. But I had never cared for a cat before. Still, I wanted to help her, so I adopted Susay.
Sarah guided me at first, especially about his routine and what he liked. But I was the one taking care of him every day, feeding him, watching how he reacted to food, adjusting his portions, and learning what worked and what didn’t.
That’s when I realized how confusing cat food can be. Almost every brand claims to be “premium” or “vet-recommended.” Ingredient lists are hard to understand. Online reviews often say very different things. I didn’t want to guess about Susay’s health, so I started learning more about cat nutrition.
Over time, I created a clear process for reviewing cat food. I’ve studied many brands sold in the United States, looking past the marketing on the front of the bag. I carefully read ingredient lists, check guaranteed analysis numbers, review AAFCO nutrition statements, look into recall history, and study patterns in real customer feedback, especially for issues like sensitive stomachs, indoor cats, weight control, food intolerances, and senior cats.
I use this same process to choose what I feed Susay. I review every product as if I were buying it for my own home.
Each review follows a simple system. I look at ingredient quality, nutritional balance for different life stages, brand safety history, common pros and cons reported by U.S. cat owners, and practical things like price and availability.
I’m not a veterinarian, and there isn’t one perfect food for every cat. This content is for informational purposes only and should not replace advice from your veterinarian, especially if your cat has medical needs. My goal is to explain things clearly so you can choose what works best for your cat.
